alex is one of the smartest machine learning scientists you’ll ever meet. after graduating with his masters in machine learning, he joined the residency where he founded tau robotics, building general intelligence in robots.

We've created the residency vienna to develop vienna's ecosystem and build a bridge between the city and san francisco. Living in vienna most of the time with a access to bed and community in SF and other cities makes it possible to combine the speed and energy of sf with the lifestyle of vienna.

hopefully one day! for now, we sustain operations by charging for rent and organizing costs - prices range from $500 to $2,600 per month depending on location and room type (shared or private). we can help connect you with grant opportunities if the cost is a barrier.
do you take equity?
no - we've seen the world's most talented builders run away from programs that take equity, we want to surround you with the world's most talented builders.
are there any perks?
yes! lots of them. residents get compute credits, food discounts, and even free therapy!
do I need to be a founder?
no. we are looking for people who like to invent. people who bring novel ideas into the real world. this type of person tends to be a startup founder or researcher.
how long is the program?
it depends on the home and cohort you join! typically cohorts range between 3 and 6 months.
do you help with visas?
we can point you in the right direction
can I do this online?
no - the majority of this experience is in person because we strongly value human connection.
